A small stroke is attached to each supported letter or number to create the line-through effect. The stroke is part of the copied text, so it can travel into an app that has no strikethrough button. Short and long strokes can render differently in the font chosen by an app.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the line broken between some letters?
The stroke is a combining mark attached to individual characters, not one drawn line. Font metrics, spaces and unsupported characters can interrupt it.
Does it cross out spaces and emoji?
No. Spaces and emoji stay unchanged. Letters that already carry added marks are also left alone to avoid piling decorations on top of them.
Will pasting it twice add more strokes?
No. Letters that already carry a stroke are left alone. Pasting the result back into the tool will not keep adding more strike marks to them.
Can a strikethrough hide or securely remove text?
No. The original letters are still present and can be read, searched or copied. The added stroke may also render unevenly. Delete sensitive information rather than drawing a line through it, and use native editing tools for formal revisions.
Is this free, and is my text uploaded?
Generating and copying text is free, with no sign-up. Input is limited to 500 characters and converted in your browser. When storage is available, this tab keeps a draft of your text and preview size; neither is sent to a server. Clear removes the draft text. The separate font-creation tools follow their own plans and workflow.
