Completely unused purchases
A purchase may qualify for manual refund review within any mandatory legal cooling-off period when none of its credits or subscription-only benefits have been used. Submit the account email, Checkout receipt or invoice ID, purchase date, and reason to support@makefont.app.
When an entitlement is used
An entitlement is used when a recognition credit is posted, optional AI alphabet completion runs successfully, a paid subscription profile is newly occupied, or another paid benefit is consumed. Editing, rebuilding, or downloading an already existing profile does not by itself consume a new credit, but it does not reverse earlier use.
Processing failures
A credit reservation is released when a platform failure prevents the recognition process from running. If recognition actually runs but finds no usable character, the one credit is considered used because the purchased processing occurred. A completely unusable optional alphabet-completion result releases its five-credit reservation according to the completion policy.
Partial periods and upgrades
Subscription upgrades are charged through the payment provider’s prorated invoice flow. The credit difference is granted after payment succeeds. Downgrades and cancellations apply at renewal. Refund review does not promise a prorated refund where a billing period or benefit has already been used, except where law requires otherwise.
Refunds and disputes
A successful refund reverses unused entitlements through the internal ledger. Existing profiles and font artifacts are not automatically destroyed. If the available balance cannot cover a reversal, new paid operations may be frozen for manual review. Chargebacks or payment disputes may also restrict processing while the payment state is resolved.
No waiver of legal rights
This policy does not remove any non-waivable consumer right. Refund timing after approval depends on Stripe and the original payment method. Support will record the decision and relevant ledger adjustments for auditability.
